Summer Hair Care Tips from the the Experts!

Can you believe Summer is on our doorstep!?!  The team at JoJo's knows that the summer months can take a toll on our hair, and needs some TLC to beat the heat and stay fresh and gorgeous in all this sunshine!  Here are your Lucky 7 tips to beat humidity-induced frizz, sun-parched locks, and overly oily tresses.  A must read!

1)  Use a heat seal/protector to minimize damage from heat styling tools.  


2) Use a leave-in conditioning spray with UV protection (YES! It's like sunscreen for our hair).  It also helps color last longer, maintains shine, and prevents breakage.


3) If you're out for a full day in the sunshine, bring a hat or a scarf to wrap up your hair for extra protection from the sun's damaging rays.

4) Look for shampoos and conditioners that gently clarify and hydrate.  Hair shines naturally when it's free of excess oils and residue.  You want to be shiny because of healthy locks, not dirty ones.


5)  Comb and detangle your hair in the shower, using a comb on dry hair can cause breakage and frizz...something we all try to avoid.

6) Another tip to run away from frizz...if you don't have time to wash and style, use a dry shampoo, or even a dash of baby powder to soak up perspiration and humidity...two culprits in creating frizz and bad hair days.

7) A great way to minimize heavy, oily hair is to pump up the volume!  Apply a volumizer to damp hair then style for an extra lift...keeping your hair sexy, proactive, and practical!

Summer's coming to an end, but that doesn't mean that you tan needs to!  JoJo's Hair Salon is happy to announce that we are now offering airbrush tanning services!  

Our airbrush technician, A.J., has been tanning clients for over 7 years.  She does all the spraying by hand.  She is able to customize the tanning experience for each and every client, according to their specific client needs.  AND it only takes 20 minutes!

Fun Facts about Airbrush Tanning:
For best results, the day before you tan:
-Exfoliate your skin
-Shave

For best results, the day that you tan:
-Clean skin
-Remove Makeup
-Hold off on perfume, lotion, use deodorant sparingly

For best results to maintain your UV-free tan:
-Ideally, wait at least 8 hours before showering or bathing, so your tan can set!
-Use lots of moisturizer!
-Avoid super hot baths, showers, and chlorine...they make your tan fade faster!
